The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stays true to its old-school roots, and the latest updates to the interior and technology do a lot to help this truck be more competitive against its full-size rivals. Greeting passengers on the LT trim level and above is an impressive-looking 13.4-inch horizontally oriented touchscreen that flows into the now fully digital and configurable instrument panel. Highlights of other changes to the interior are a redesigned center console, new seats and upgraded trim materials. The gear shifter has moved from a column-mounted stalk to a more car-like drive selector. Overall, the new layout is easier to use and much more in line with the modern and thoughtful interiors that buyers have come to expect from a full-size pickup truck.
For 2022, Chevrolet has dropped the 4.3-liter V6 engine from the Silverado's lineup, leaving it with four available engines. The Silverado's turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine has been given a healthy increase in torque over last year's model it now makes a stout 430 lb-ft, up from 348 lb-ft. Changes to the eight-speed transmission have also been made to take advantage of the 2.7-liter engine's newfound torque; this combo should enhance acceleration while still being reasonably fuel-efficient.
The Silverado LT adds to the Custom trim withChrome exterior trim, 17-inch alloy wheels, Keyless entry and ignition, LED headlights, Dual-zone automatic climate control, a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, Enhanced Google-based voice control system, a Power-adjustable drivers seat, Heated front seats and a Heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.
This LT also features 20 inch aluminum rims.
